If you live in the relevant area the deadline to be registered to vote in this election is Tuesday 17 September, 2024.

You must be on our electoral register and live in the relevant area in order to vote in these elections.

Vote by post or proxy

The deadline to apply to vote by post in this election is 5pm Wednesday 18 September 2024

The deadline to nominate a proxy to cast your vote on your behalf is 5pm Wednesday 25 September, 2024

Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must be received by 5pm on Thursday 3 October, 2024

If you don't want to vote at the polling station you can either apply to receive your ballot through the post or nominate a proxy to vote on your behalf.

Voter ID information 

The deadline to apply for a free voter authority certificate in order to vote in this election is 5pm Wednesday 25 September, 2024

Voters are now required to show a form of photographic ID at polling stations before they are able to cast their vote.

You polling station will also be on your poll card which will be sent to you in good time before polling day.

Nominations

We must received your completed nomination papers no later than 4pm on Friday 6 September, 2024.

You must return your completed papers by hand to Electoral Services, Appletree Court, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, SO43 7PA.

We strongly advise that candidates take advantage of an informal check of their papers with one of our team. To arrange a time to come in and see us please contact Electoral Services using the details at the bottom of this page. 

Nominations are provided by the Electoral Commission and all pages must be submitted even if their content is not relevant.

Campaigning

Spending

Candidates are advised to read the Electoral Commission guidance on spending and donations at elections in England. 

Candidates are required by law to limit their spending to £960.00 plus 8 pence for each entry on the electoral register for the relevant area. 

The electorate number for the purpose of calculating spending limits for Fawley at the time of the election is 3992.

You are required by law to complete and return details of spending and donations to us by the deadline and should be returned to Electoral Services at the address below. 

If you did not incur any expenditure, you must submit a Nil return. Please note, no spending will be reimbursed.
