Strategic Site 16: Land to the north of Station Road, Ashford
Our Local Plan 2016-2036 Part 1: Planning Strategy has allocated this land, known as Strategic Site 16: Land to the north of Station Road, Ashford for residential-led mixed use development and open space consisting of:
- at least 140 homes, dependent on the form, size and mix of housing provided
- on-site provision of public open space

We received one planning application for the site.

Status: Granted subject to conditions.
Proposal:
- Application for full planning permission to provide 198 dwellings (including affordable housing provision),
- new pedestrian and cycle routes,
- landscaping, parking, public open space, Alternative Natural Recreational Greenspace, improvement of existing access,
- drainage and all other necessary on site infrastructure; and
- demolition of former outbuildings and agricultural buildings.
A decision notice was issued 9 April 2024 granting permission.

September 2024
- The developer is continuing the construction of the highway entrance from Station Road in to the site.
- The main spine road base layer around the site has commenced construction.
- The tree protection is in situ.
- The approved onsite archaeological field work is now completed.
- Plots 198-205 are having their foundations constructed.
- Plots 195-197 have their slabs in.
- Plots 193 and 194 are at ground floor level.
- Plots 1-6 are at first floor level.
August 2024
- The developer has commenced construction of the plots. Plots 1-6 are at slab level and other plots are being marked out, ready to break ground.
- The main spine road around the site has commenced construction.
- Tree protection is in situ.
- The approved onsite archaeological field work is still ongoing.
- The developer is continuing the construction of the highway entrance from Station Road in to the site.
