Register to vote

The deadline to be registered to vote in this election is Tuesday, 8 October 2024.

You must be on our electoral register and live in the relevant area in order to vote in these elections.

The process is quick and easy and only takes around 5 minutes, you only have to register once unless you have changed your name or moved house. 

Vote by post or proxy

The deadline to apply to vote by post in this election is by 5pm on Wednesday, 9 October 2024.

The deadline to nominate a proxy to cast your vote on your behalf is by 5pm Wednesday, 16 October 2024.

If you don't want to vote at the polling station you can either apply to receive your ballot through the post or nominate a proxy to vote on your behalf.

Voter ID information 

The deadline to apply for a free voter authority certificate in order to vote in this election is by 5pm on Wednesday, 16 October 2024.

Voters are now required to show a form of photographic ID at polling stations before they are able to cast their vote.

Nominations

We must have received your completed nomination papers no later than 4pm on Friday 27 September

You must return your completed papers by hand to Electoral Services, Appletree Court, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, SO43 7PA.
