New Changing Places toilets open in Brockenhurst and Ringwood

20 May 2024

We have installed new Changing Places toilets in Brockenhurst and Ringwood.

The new Changing Places toilets will ensure that disabled people, as well as their families and caregivers, have access to suitable facilities while living in and visiting the New Forest.

The new toilets feature a range of amenities, including height-adjustable changing benches, hoists, adjustable sinks, and additional space for wheelchair users, and can be accessed at any time using a RADAR key.

Cllr Geoffrey Blunden, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability, said: "The installation of new Changing Places toilets in Ringwood and Brockenhurst shows our ongoing commitment to creating and maintaining an inclusive district, where everyone can enjoy spending time in the New Forest. We're also very grateful to have worked together with charity Hadley's Heroes, who has provided us with invaluable advice when designing and installing these facilities."

In Ringwood, the Changing Places toilet has been installed in The Furlong short stay car park, opposite the main toilet block. In Brockenhurst, the toilet has been installed within the existing toilet block in the car park. These new facilities add to the existing Changing Places toilets available in the district, which are in Barton on Sea, Lymington, Milford on Sea, and New Milton.

We have been provided with £208,000 in funding from the Government's Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities to install the Changing Places toilets.
