Statement of Community Involvement Consultation

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how we will consult and involve others in planning matters in New Forest (outside the National Park). 

We are undergoing a period of public consultation from 23 October to 6 December 2024 on a revised version to replace the current SCI adopted in October 2020. This is to take account of changes in national policy and updates to NFDC procedures.

The SCI only relates to planning and sets out how we will involve the community and stakeholders in the preparation and review of planning policy documents and the consideration of planning applications.

The SCI covers:

• the preparation of local plans
• the preparation of planning guidance
• applications for planning permission

Comment on the revised SCI

Comments on the document should be made no later than 6 December 2024.
