Councillors

Local councillors are elected by the community to decide how we carry out our activities. They represent public interest as well as individuals living within the ward in which they were elected to serve a term of office. They have regular contact with the general public through council meetings, telephone calls or surgeries.

Leader of the council

The Leader of the council is elected every four years , immediately following district council elections.

Cabinet members

The Cabinet is a group of six councillors who make executive decisions.

Members' allowances

Councillors are not paid a salary but receive allowances to help with their expenses.

Complain against a councillor

You can make a complaint if you think a councillor has broken the Code of Conduct.
