Lymington and Pennington Neighbourhood Plan

Following a request from Lymington and Pennington Town Council the full parish was designated as a neighbourhood area on 1 October 2015.

We are the local planning authority for the majority of the neighbourhood plan area, with the National Park Authority being the planning authority for peripheral areas outside of Lymington (around Upper Pennington, Gordleton, Buckland Rings and the coastal area around the Pennington Marshes). Both authorities have provided advice to the town council.

On 7 March 2025 the Lymington and Pennington Neighbourhood Plan was submitted by Lymington and Pennington Town Council, under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).  

In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations this is a final consultation opportunity to comment on the neighbourhood plan period before both the neighbourhood plan and the representations made are considered by an independent examiner.
