Our new Hardley Depot to open, with some possible changes to times of waste and recycling collections
5 February 2025
We will start operating from our new depot at the Hardley Industrial Estate from next week (week beginning Monday 10 February 2025).
We are keen for residents in Totton, Lyndhurst, Hythe and surrounding areas to know that, although waste collection days will stay the same, crews may arrive at different times of day to usual.
Please only report missed collections after 1pm to allow for these possible timing adjustments.
The move from Claymeadow Depot in Totton is a significant milestone in our long-term plan to enhance waste and recycling services for residents.
Cllr Geoffrey Blunden, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability. said:
"This new depot represents a major investment in our operational services, ensuring we can continue to provide efficient waste and recycling collections, street cleaning, and open spaces management for the district. It will also provide a modern and comfortable workplace for our hardworking staff.
This strategic move allows us to improve services while accommodating our growing fleet and operational needs. The larger, more modern facilities at Hardley Depot will also support our environmental goals, including reducing emissions and preparing for future recycling initiatives."
