Latest affordable homes completed in New Milton
17 January 2024
We have completed our latest affordable housing development in New Milton.
The scheme, containing 6 apartments and 10 houses, has been built at Moore Close.
The homes meet the government's proposed Future Homes Standard and produce 75-80% lower carbon emissions compared to current levels.
Energy efficiency and carbon reducing measures include air source heat pumps for heating, solar PV panels, triple glazing, increased insulation, and electric vehicle charging points.
Some of the homes are fully accessible for wheelchair users whilst others are adaptable for those who may experience limited mobility in the future.
Cllr Steve Davies, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Homelessness, said: "I am absolutely delighted to see the beautiful homes at Moore Close finished and so many already occupied. This is our second scheme built to the proposed Future Homes Standard which shows what the future looks like today, and how meeting that standard can make running the homes even more affordable."
Forming part of the affordable housing development strategy, Moore Close marks completion of the 370th home since our target was adopted in 2018.
