Register to vote

The deadline to be registered to vote in this election is Tuesday, 28 January 2025.

You must be on our electoral register and live in the relevant area in order to vote in these elections.

Vote by post or proxy

The deadline to apply to vote by post in this election is by 5pm on Wednesday, 29 January 2025.

The deadline to nominate a proxy to cast your vote on your behalf is by 5pm on Wednesday, 5 February 2025.

If you don't want to vote at the polling station you can either apply to receive your ballot through the post or nominate a proxy to vote on your behalf.

Voter ID information 

The deadline to apply for a free voter authority certificate in order to vote in this election is by 5pm on Wednesday, 5 February 2025.

Voters are now required to show a form of photographic ID at polling stations before they are able to cast their vote.
