Our housing service scores high satisfaction rating

8 July 2024

We have scored 81% tenant satisfaction for our housing landlord services.

The score came from a survey of tenants as part of the new national government standard, the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSM), which was introduced in April 2023.

Results also show that 82.8% of tenants are satisfied with the repairs service, 82.1% are satisfied with the maintenance of their homes, and 84.7% feel that their homes are safe.

22 different measures in the TSM monitor and highlight social housing landlords' performance on building safety, attending repairs on time, response to complaints and anti-social behaviour, and effective engagement with tenants.

Our figures for the 2023 to 2024 period provide insights into our performance in housing services, allowing tenants to see how their landlord is performing and for the authority to plan improvements.

Cllr Steve Davies, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Homelessness, said,

"This is the first year we have collected and presented this data, marking a significant step in transparency and  engagement with our tenants. While the results are very encouraging, we are already focusing on areas needing improvement.

"We know that acting on our tenants' views, and having well-maintained and safe homes, are the strongest drivers of tenant satisfaction.  It was clear from the survey that we need to focus more on our work in communal areas, and on our commitment to addressing anti social behaviour.

"Housing officers are looking closely at the data, how we can improve our handling of complaints, and make sure our tenants feel valued, respected, and involved in shaping their services.

"I would  encourage tenants who want to get involved with shaping housing services to contact our tenant engagement team. If you have 30 minutes or a few hours to spare there are many ways to get involved."
