Arts and Culture in the New Forest

The New Forest is a unique place. There are many creative organisations and individuals who offer opportunities to pursue creative hobbies and professions.

See below for ways to get involved and get support.

Are you a creative professional and looking for support, networking opportunities and training?

Folio is a collective of creative and cultural organisations and professionals in the New Forest district coming together to make the New Forest a place for creativity to thrive.

Folio hold regular networking events and training workshops. They also share arts and culture resources, funding advice and news via a monthly e-newsletter.

Folio are looking to expand this network to include all creative and cultural professionals living and/or working in the New Forest area. In 2023, there will be an expanded offer for schools and young creatives.

Culture in Common

Would you like to see more creative activities in the New Forest?

Culture in Common is a new programme that provides inspiring and accessible opportunities in our district, chosen by you.

The programme is district-wide with a focus on areas such as Totton, Ringwood, New Milton and the Waterside. This year's programme already includes a range of new creative events including cartoon workshops, choir sessions, comedy festivals and wellbeing sessions.

Culture in Common is an Arts Council England 'Creative People and Places Programme' and is funded to encourage more people to take the lead in choosing, creating and taking part in arts and culture experiences in the places where they live.

Energise Me formed a consortium with Folio, The Handy Trust, New Forest District Council and New Forest National Park Authority to manage Culture in Common.

The consortium blends arts, community engagement, heritage, physical activity and health expertise, and is passionate about collaborating and building authentic relationships with New Forest communities.
