Making improvements to your home

As a shared owner you can decorate your home as you wish.

We would suggest that if you are buying a new home you avoid decorating until the end of the defects period (usually the first 12 months).

If you would like to make structural or complex alterations to your home such as building a conservatory you will need our permission.

Your lease, and our shared ownership guide, will explain what you can and can't do as a shared owner.
