Central and West Hampshire Youth Employment Hub
In 2021, New Forest District Council and partner local authorities Eastleigh Borough Council, Test Valley District Council and Winchester City Council combined with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to launch the Central and West Hampshire Youth Employment Hub.
The Central and West Hampshire Youth Employment Hub has now closed but you can still find information and support for young people aged 18 to 24 through the following sources:
- your local Jobcentre Plus : a work coach can give you information about programmes to help you prepare for, find and stay in work. You can also get help with moving from benefits to work.
If you're looking for advice about careers or other options, then your local Jobcentre Plus can put you in touch with a careers adviser.
If you are 16 to 20, or up to 25 if you have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), through one to one support Your Future can help you to:
- assess what you want to do next
- develop a plan of activities to help you achieve your goals
- recognise your skills, talents and ambitions
- match you to the right opportunity, whether that's education, employment, traineeship, apprenticeship, further training or volunteering opportunities
- stay on track with that opportunity through continued advice and guidance
- create your CV and practice interview techniques
If you're not sure any of the options above are right for you, please get in touch for general advice. email: careers.service@hants.gov.uk or phone: 01962 846193.
