Pay council invoices

The sundry income team raises invoices on behalf of different departments within New Forest District Council. 

There are several ways by which you can pay an invoice.

Pay online

You can pay your invoice online. 

You will need your invoice number, which is a 8 digit number starting with 4.  This can be found on the top right-hand side of your invoice. You will also need to provide your bank details.

To pay your invoice, use the form below.

Pay by banking

You can arrange to make payments for your invoice via your bank or building society.

These can offer various methods, including:

  • standing order
  • telephone banking
  • online banking
  • paying in person at a bank or building society

You will need your customer ID number, which is an 8 digit number starting with "100". 

This can be found on the top right-hand side of your invoice.

You will also need to provide the council's bank account details, which is where you will send your payments.

Pay by Direct Debit

You can pay your invoice by Direct Debit.

Pay by phone

You can make payments for your invoice over the phone, using your debit or credit card.

You will need your customer ID number, which is 8 digits starting with "100".  This can be found on the top right-hand side of your invoice or top left-hand side of any reminders.

You can pay by calling 01590 646117, lines are open Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3pm. 

The payment is taken through a secure automated payment line.

Disputing an invoice

If you have received an invoice from us that you dispute, please send an email to Sundry.income@nfdc.gov.uk with the reasons why you dispute the invoice, giving as much information as possible.  We will respond to you as soon as possible and may contact you if we need more information.

If you have overpaid an invoice

If you have paid too much any overpayment of an invoice may be transferred to any outstanding debt you have with us.

Difficulty paying your invoice

To prevent any problems, you should ensure you pay your invoice on time.  If you are unable to pay your invoice, or keep to a payment plan, please contact us as straight away.  We will do our best to help you.

Failure to pay an invoice

Failure to pay your invoice will result in recovery of the debt.  This can include your debt being sent to a collection agency or taking the debt to court to obtain a County Court Judgment (CCJ), which will occur court costs and affect your credit rating.
