If your household will use sacks instead of wheelie bins
The information only applies to residents who, as an exception, will use sacks instead of wheelie bins for recycling and rubbish collections.
Before your new service starts, we will write to you confirming how your new waste collections will work.
Your new recycling and rubbish collections
We will collect your recycling and rubbish on alternate weeks - rubbish will be collected one week and recycling the next week.
Recycling collections
Once your new waste collections start, you will get a delivery of NFDC recycling sacks every 12 months.
Rubbish collections
Once your new waste collections start, you will no longer receive NFDC black rubbish sacks. You can buy rubbish sacks of your choice from a supermarket or shop.
To help encourage recycling and reduce waste in the district, there will be a limit on how much rubbish we collect from all properties in the district.
Before new waste collections start, eligible households will be able to apply for us to collect more rubbish. We will update this web page with more details and criteria once households are able to do this.
Your new food waste collections
We will collect your food waste every week.
You will get a brown outdoor food waste caddy (23 litre) and a grey indoor food waste caddy (5 litre).
When we deliver your food waste caddies, you will get a starter supply of liners for your grey indoor food waste caddy.
Your glass collections
Your glass collections will remain every 4 weeks, using your current black glass collection box.
