Mental wellbeing

Evidence shows that there are 5 steps that help to improve an individual's mental health and wellbeing, steps which are promoted by Mind and the NHS.

We are supporting programmes that increase some of these aspects of wellbeing that will help to improve our community's wellbeing.

Find out more about the 5 steps to mental wellbeing on the NHS website.

We have several programmes and projects that can support mental wellbeing.

These include:

  • Culture In Common is a programme creating more opportunities for local communities to take part in creative activities locally.

  • Sensory walks in nature  are one way that this can be achieved

  • Green Health Hub  is a directory of activities in the New Forest and surrounding areas for wellbeing in the outdoors

  • Community First  If you are interested in volunteering opportunities in the New Forest, then please contact our partners Community First, who are the local volunteer bureau

  • Back to Basics We have been working with Hampshire County Council and partners to develop the Back to Basics programme. These are basic steps that can empower families to take the important steps to help with their wellbeing.
