Millvina Close/Green Close - Residential Development

Plans for a new residential development at Millvina Close/Green Close, Woodlands are now available on- line as part of a public consultation.

The deadline for submission of comments Wednesday 26 January 2022.

What we are proposing

The development will provide nine new homes. The new homes will comprise two one bed flats, five two bed houses and two three bed houses. Six of the homes will be owned and managed by the council and they will be for rent by local people. Three homes will be available for purchase under a shared ownership arrangement for people with local connections.

Shared ownership is a more affordable way to buy your own home, designed to help those people who can't otherwise purchase a home of their own on the open market.

Why we want to redevelop the site

There is a serious shortage of affordable homes in the district with demand hugely outstripping supply, so New Forest District Council has initiated a programme to build six hundered new homes by 2026.

This project contributes to the council's corporate objectives to provide much needed affordable homes to residents of the New Forest

The development will be funded by New Forest District Council and Homes England grant funding.

Feedback

We are interested to hear the views of local people so that we can further improve the scheme. Members of the public and stakeholders are invited to view the plans online and share their thoughts on the proposals through an electronic survey before we submit a planning application. Links to the plans and the survey can be found below.

The comments made will be fed into the design programme for further consideration before the designs are finalised for submission.
