Vice Chairman of the council

The Vice Chairman of the Council deputises for the council's civic head and the first citizen of the New Forest. The current Vice-Chairman is Cllr John Sleep. 

The role of the Vice Chairman

The Vice Chairman of the Council deputises for the Chairman when he or she is unavailable. The Vice Chairman might be called upon to undertake the full range of duties of the Chairman, from chairing meetings of the council to performing civic ceremonial duties.
