If someone living with you is certified as being severely mentally impaired, you may be eligible for a discount for Council Tax.
If the person is severely mentally impaired and there are no other adults living with you, you can apply for a 25% discount in your Council Tax. This could apply where someone has dementia, including Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease.
If someone lives alone, or if everyone living in a property is certified as being severely mentally impaired, you can apply on their behalf for an exemption from paying Council Tax.
