Warmer Homes funding

You can apply to receive fully funded measures to improve the energy efficiency of your home from the Warmer Homes programme.

If you live in a house with a mains gas supply, you can receive up to £10,000 towards installing the measures. If your house does not have a mains gas supply, you could receive up to £25,000.

Funding is available for:

  • high heat retention storage heaters for properties without mains gas supply
  • external and internal solid wall insulation
  • cavity wall insulation
  • under floor insulation
  • loft insulation
  • room-in-roof insulation
  • air source heat pumps
  • park home external wall insulation
  • solar PV panels
  • heating controls

Who can apply

This programme is available to owner occupiers and private rental tenants only. Please do not apply if you are a local authority or housing association tenant, as your application will not be accepted.

The funding is available on a first come, first serve basis until 31 March 2025 for both owner occupiers and private rental tenants.

You can apply for funding if you have an energy performance certificate rating (EPC) of D, E, F, or G and either:

  • an annual total household income of £36,000 or less, before housing costs and bills
  • be on means tested benefits

There is also reduced funding available for households with an energy performance rating of D. Find out your energy performance certificate rating on the GOV.UK website.

If you live in a private rented property, you'll need to get permission from your landlord, and they will need to make a financial contribution. This will be agreed between your landlord and Warmer Homes before any work takes place.

How to apply

You can apply for funding by filling out a form on the Warmer Homes website.

You can also apply by calling the Warmer Homes team on 0800 038 5737.

After you have applied

Once you have submitted your application to Warmer Homes, they will send you a welcome pack and eligibility verification documents.

These documents allow Warmer Homes to check your eligibility so that their team can fully assess your application.

Warmer Homes programme

The Warmer Homes programme is funded by the government's Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery and Home Upgrade Grant schemes.

We are part of a local consortium, led by Portsmouth City Council, which has secured funding from these schemes to offer grant funding to improve the energy efficiency of eligible homes.

The funding was awarded as the result of successful bid to the government's 'Sustainable Warmth' competition.
