Awarding funding for community groups
5 February 2025
We have announced the recipients of its 2025/26 community grants programme.
More than £274,000 will be distributed to local projects that foster wellbeing, encourage community connections, and deliver critical support services to the district's residents.
This year's funding will support initiatives and organisations ranging from youth programmes and environmental projects to vital services for vulnerable residents, such as mental health and dementia, as well as supporting community transport schemes, physical activities, and the arts and culture. Among the recipients are, The Crossings, who support those at risk of becoming homeless, and New Forest Disability Information Service who support people across the district with a disability. The grants awarded follow a new system of scoring which reflects the Council's Corporate Plan priorities and underlines NFDC's commitment to building thriving, resilient communities.
Cllr Dan Poole, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Communities, said: "This community grant scheme is all about supporting local organisations who enhance the lives of residents. The grants are a testament to the incredible work these local organisations do. By investing in their initiatives, we are empowering them to make a real difference to the lives of residents across the New Forest."
