Container Appeal Form Privacy Notice

This privacy notice is designed to help you understand how the Council processes your personal data when you submit an appeal relating to the type of container assessed as suitable for your property for your waste collection. 

This privacy notice supplements the key information in, and should be read alongside, the Council's corporate privacy notice. 

1. Who are we? 

The Waste Service at the Council is responsible for providing refuse and recycling services and collections across the district.   

2. Whose personal data do we process? 

We will process the personal data of residents who use the container appeal form. 

3. What type of personal data do we process? 

The personal data we process may include: 

Contact information including name, address, telephone number, email address. 

We will not process special categories of personal data. 

4. Why do we process personal data? 

We need to process your personal data to enable you to appeal the waste container decision for your address. 

5. Where do we get your personal data from? 

Your personal data is provided by you to the Council directly via the online container appeal form, in person or by telephone.  

6. Who do we share your personal data with? 

To enable us to investigate your container decision we will share your data with departments within the council. 

7. What is the legal basis for using your personal data? 

We rely on the following lawful basis to process personal data for the container appeal form: 

• Consent:  the individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose.
