Policy DM15: Secondary Shopping Frontages
Within town centre secondary shopping frontages, as defined on the Policies Maps, the following will be permitted:
a) the development, improvement or expansion of retail and appropriate non-retail uses; and
b) the change of use of retail premises to appropriate non-retail uses. Residential development will not be permitted at ground floor level in premises within the defined frontage.
Residential development may be provided on other floors where it does not result in the loss of retail and/or other appropriate non-retail uses capable of being satisfactorily used for an alternative business or employment use appropriate to a town centre location
