Submitting a bid for Local Infrastructure

The current bidding window for local infrastructure bids has now closed and we are now currently considering those bids received.

Awarding local infrastructure funds through the Community Infrastructure Levy

Projects will be subject to a detailed assessment to evaluate whether they are suitable to be considered for allocation of funds from the Community Infrastructure Levy. Once the assessment is completed the results will be published and applicants will be notified with reasons given for accepting or refusing each project. 

Should you be successful in obtaining a CIL grant, please note the following: 

• If your bid is successful, we will require additional information to progress your application
• payment will only be made on receipt of a valid claim on receipt of a copy of a paid invoice and evidence of a completed projects ​or where this is not possible if agreed with us in advance, a confirmed Purchase Order Number confirming the order for goods.  

Local Plan 2016 - 2036 Part 1: Planning Strategy

The currently adopted Local Plan 2016 - 2036 Part 1: Planning Strategy (July 2020) sets out the planning strategy for the plan area. Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) monies are collected to mitigate the impacts of new development. It is therefore important that any projects proposed positively align with the provisions, objectives, and policies of the adopted development plan, including those projects identified in the Infrastructure Delivery Plan.

As this question is scoring highly, applicants are strongly suggested to review the Local Plan and reference any policies that align with the project proposal.

CIL expenditure

CIL will be spent by us on infrastructure projects anywhere within or outside the district, to support development within the district.

The most recent CIL Expenditure Framework was approved in October 2024.
