How we write content

We write content for the user, not for ourselves.

So, we design content to give users what they need:

• only when they need it
• as simply and quickly as possible
• using words they understand
• in a consistent way.

We have based our guidelines on the Readability Guidelines wiki setup by Content Design London.

This is a collaboratively developed, universal content style guide, based on usability evidence.

Where appropriate we will link to these guidelines but will also include our own 'house style'.
