Applications open for businesses to benefit from grants
6 October 2023
We have opened up a new grant for local businesses.
Eligible businesses can apply for a grant from the 'Rural England Prosperity Fund' to help them grow.
The government fund, administered by us, can provide grants of £5,000 to £40,000 to qualifying businesses to cover 50% of the project costs.
Grants can be used for investing in equipment, machinery and buildings, measures to improve energy efficiency in commercial buildings, and to diversify farm businesses outside of agriculture.
Councillor Derek Tipp, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Planning, said: "The Rural Fund will provide grants that could provide a significant step-up for the district's rural businesses, enabling them to successfully compete and build their capacity for the future."
To be eligible, businesses must be based in the New Forest Rural Fund area. The businesses must also be able to demonstrate that the grant funded investment will benefit the wider economy of the New Forest Rural Fund area, for example through growth of the applicant business, or creation of new jobs.
