Facts about delivery of our services in 2022

New Forest District Council, There's more to our place than meets the eye.

Below are several key facts and information about what we are doing at the moment, including:

• dealing with around 1,300 planning applications per year and are preparing to support the build of over 10,000 new homes in the district over the next 14 years
• piloting green technology, such as installing air source heat pumps, in 50 of our rural council properties without a gas supply
• constructing a large employment industrial development in Ringwood, using energy efficient technology supporting around 200 jobs and bring in over £500,000 per annum revenue
• doing urgent works to protect and replenish the coastline after the winter storm, including importing 12,000 tonnes of rock
• running a youth employment hub with three other local councils, to help young people with advice, training and job opportunities, and are managing the Shop Doctor programme which has helped businesses locally learn about their strengths, weaknesses, and how to improve 
• investing in commercial and residential properties in the district, adding over £700,000 additional income since 2018
