We have released our first shared ownership homes for sale. Two, new, semi-detached, 3-bedroom houses in Blackfield are now available to buy, the first homes available for shared ownership in our new scheme aimed at getting local people on the property ladder.
The two, new build properties now available in Mulberry Close, Blackfield are semi-detached, 3-bedroom homes available from just £78,750 for a 25% share. Located in Fawley Parish on the edge of the New Forest National Park, each offers a private garden, under floor heating, fitted kitchen with integrated cooker, fridge freezer and dishwasher, wood style laminate to kitchen and bathrooms, and carpets to all other rooms. Shared ownership aims to help those who can't otherwise afford to purchase a home of their own on the open market. It provides an opportunity for people to buy an initial share of between 25% and 75% of the property depending on what they can afford, paying rent on the remaining share. Further shares can then be purchased, with rent reducing as shares in the property increase, until the property is bought outright.

How to apply
To be eligible for shared ownership, households must be registered with the Help to Buy agent. The Help to Buy agents offer help and advice to those considering shared ownership and will assess applicants on eligibility and financial criteria. Priority for NFDC properties will be given to those with a local connection to the district. A reservation fee will be required in advance.
