Nominations and book an appointment
This guidance is designed to support both prospective candidates and their agents intending to submit nomination papers for our District, and Town and Parish Elections on Thursday May 4 2023.
The Electoral Commission provide guidance on standing as a candidate.
You are encouraged to refer to the guidance when completing the nomination paper and throughout your campaign.

Submitting your papers
You can submit nomination papers from Monday 20 March until 4pm on Tuesday 4 April.
We cannot accept nominations before or after this time and any attempted delivery of papers outside of this window will not be valid.
We strongly advise all candidates and agents take advantage of an informal check of their nomination papers before their formal submission.
To assist the smooth running of this process we are asking all candidates and agents to book an appointment for their informal check and formal submission.

We are aware our appointments to submit nomination papers are getting booked up, if your preferred time is not available please contact us on 023 8028 5445.
Booking is not essential, if you are wishing to visit to submit nomination papers please be aware that we must receive them by 4pm Tuesday 4 April.

Party agents who are intending to bring a larger number of papers in at the same time please contact us directly so we can allow enough time to process them.
