Information for residents in flats
Residents living in flats have not been given a box because is not practical to ask residents to store a box of glass in their flat between collections, or to carry it down steps.
We will be working with residents and landlords during 2014 to install communal bins for glass bottles and jars where we can.

What can I recycle in the black box?
You can recycle all glass bottles and jars:
|Yes please||No thanks|
All glass bottles and jars, such as:
All colours and sizes
Please remove the lids and rinse out before placing in your black box.
On collection day
Your box should be placed in clear view at the edge of your property by 7am on your collection day. Your collection crew will empty it and put it back.
All glass should be placed loose in your box; please do not put it in carrier bags or other boxes as they will not be taken.
If your crew cannot take the box because it contains incorrect items, they will leave a card explaining what needs to be removed. The incorrect items will need to be removed before the next collection.
If your box was in clear view at the edge of your property by 7am, and did not contain anything unsuitable, you can call Customer Services on 023 8028 5000 to arrange a collection.
Replacement and extra boxes
If your box has been lost or broken, or you would like an extra box, you can request one from Customer Services on 023 8028 5000.
Glass collections will take place as normal over the Easter and summer bank holidays.
There may be changes to your collection day over the Christmas period; please refer to your collection calendar.
Bottle banks are still available for residents to use in addition to the black box. You can use them for extra glass bottles and jars at busy times of the year, such as Christmas.
We will be monitoring the amount of glass that is recycled through the bottle banks over the summer. Any bank that is taken out because of low usage will have a sticker put on it at least 2 weeks before being removed.
