The drop-off area will be clearly marked with a yellow road sign, please only put your Christmas trees in this area. We cannot accept other items, such as wreaths or general garden waste at these sites.

Your Christmas tree can also be taken to one of the household waste recycling centres, located at Efford, Marchwood and Somerley.

If you are unable to take your tree to a drop-off point or household waste recycling centre, you can put it out with your rubbish if it is less than 6ft tall. We will be unable to chip or compost these trees.

Christmas recycling

Make yours a greener Christmas by continuing to recycle at home.

Your clear sack can be used to recycle:

  • Paper
  • Card - don't forget all those Christmas cards and cardboard boxes!
  • Tins, cans, aerosols and metal sweet tins
  • Plastic bottles

Please do not place other plastics, wrapping paper, cartons or foil in your clear sack as we cannot recycle these.

For those households already using the household glass collections you can put all of your glass bottles and jars in your black box for collection - all colours and sizes! For extra glass and households yet to be introduced to the scheme all glass bottles and jars can be recycled through your local bottle bank.

 Winter weather collections

On very rare occasions, we may be unable to reach properties during bad winter weather. Any changes to collections will be published as soon as possible on the homepage and on
