Are you interested in taking a formal Lifeguarding qualification? Then read on

The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification award, is a national qualification, valid for two years from the date of the exam, followed by 20 hours training by a qualified trainer assessor required over the two years to renew the qualification.

 Entry requirements

Minimum age 16yrs+ at the time of taking the NPLQ assessment
Able to meet the following basic fitness criteria:-

Jump / dive into deep water 
Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
Tread water for 30 seconds
Surface dive to the floor of the pool
Climb out unaided without ladder / steps and where the pool design permits

Bronze Medallion (or higher), Life Support awards, First Aid awards an advantage but not essential

How much does it cost?

£225 including course tuition, exam fees and training manual.

Please note - The course is non-refundable. We may offer a transfer onto another course, for medical reasons only, at the discretion of the Training Manager.
