Beach Patrol

Areas of the coast that are owned or managed by New Forest District Council are regularly patrolled and inspected.

The council manages a number of patrols, which operate for different reasons and at different times.

At key locations, life rings are provided and these are regularly inspected.

If you wish to report a missing or damaged life-ring or have any other maintenance / repair queries concerning public facilities along the coast, you can contact coastal.team@nfdc.gov.uk or report it to customer services on 023 8028 5000.

Added security is provided by a Beach Hut Watch initiative, which involves volunteer effort co-ordinated by the police.

At Keyhaven, local organisations work together to provide Marine Watch, a 24-hour surveillance of the river and its surroundings.  Contact the Keyhaven River Warden if you have any queries.

In addition to the work of the council, we welcome the work of the Harbour Master Offices of Associated British Ports in Southampton Water and part of the Western Solent at Calshot.  The Lymington Harbour Commissioners patrol within their harbour area.
