Your Vote Matters

During Autumn 2018, Electoral Services will carry out a canvass of all properties within the District.  An updated register will be published on 1 December 2018, after this date we make changes to the register during the year on a monthly basis.

You can vote at elections only if your name is on the Register of Electors. British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens and citizens of British Overseas Territories are eligible to register to vote at all elections in this country, whereas citizens of other member states of the European Union may only register to vote at local elections.

Any elector in the District may object to your name being included.  If this happens we will write to you.

If we receive no objection to your application, we will change or add your details within two to six weeks, depending on when in the month you apply. We will write to tell you when your registration has been confirmed, and when your name has been added to the register.
