Cabinet agrees proposal to get more council homes faster

New Forest District Council is accelerating its programme to provide much needed housing for local people and this year (2018/9) will spend over £17 million building and acquiring new council homes.

In addition to developing its own land, the Council will work with developers and others to acquire further housing to help local families.

Councillor Jill Cleary, Portfolio Holder for Housing Services said, "I am delighted that we are building and acquiring more new council homes which are desperately needed in our area. I am particularly pleased that we are accelerating our programme to provide as many new council homes as possible".
